Trading, or special imports, has grown over the past few years. For several decades, AD company has imported from suppliers, particularly in Asia. We have extensive contact networks that have a wide range, in terms of both geographic coverage and product diversity.
We have our own quality control operations on the ground in Hong Kong, guaranteeing delivery times and compliance with our own quality standards. Thanks to an otherwise steady stream of imports from the region, we are working to consolidate our shipments. This will enhance our deliveries, protect the products and provide more cost-effective shipping.
There are a number of basic points to remember in relation to any trading inquiry. There is often a minimum quantity requirement. The more specialised the product, the greater the quantity requirement. The less expensive the article, the greater the volume requirement. The following is a list of questions you may want to ask your customer:
- Is there a sketch or previous product sample to use as a starting-point?
- What is the preferred colour?
- Is it a standard colour or a customer-specific PMS?
- Is the article to be given a marking, and if so, with embroidery or print?
- Number?
- When must the products be available for delivery in Sweden?
Remember that it generally takes from three to four months to import a special order.
It is important to ensure sufficient margins to obtain result samples and correct any errors, and to quote a sufficiently generous shipping time.
